INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
- Remove existing starter bell crank lever. (Figure 1)
- Disconnect and discard the tension spring between the starter bell crank and the pin on the gear box.
- Disconnect the three (3) links from the starter bell crank and discard the pins and "X" Washers.
- Remove the pivot bolt from the starter bell crank and discard.
- Remove the starter bell crank and discard.
Remove the pivot bolt which mounts three-part clutch mechanism to the gear box, and discard
pivot bolt.Note: Do not disturb any shims between components on the pivot bolt.
- Install the new Cycle Solenoid and Bell crank Assembly. Refer to Figure 2 for mounting
sequence and hardware identification.- Connect the short link from the clutch latch and new Tension Spring, 12-102105 (previously removed in Step 1.2) to the starter bell crank. Do not connect link which goes to recycle solenoid.
- Check to make sure starter bell crank and three-part clutch mechanism pivot freely after the two (2) Hex Head Bolts, 12-100441, are tightened.
- Loosen the bolts (in the slotted holes) which connect the solenoid to the mounting plate. Position the solenoid so that the link to the starter bell crank is vertical and plumb, and the distance from the bottom of the plunger collar to the bottom of the solenoid is 9/16 inch when the solenoid is de-energized. Tighten the bolts. (Figure 3)
- Route electrical cable from solenoid assembly. (Figure 4)
Carefully route cables under cross conveyor, using existing cable clamps on Pinsetter cross brace and then up to wire channel. Secure cable with Cable Ties, 11-603105, as shown in Figure 4.
Note: When routing electrical triggering cable from wire channel to electrical box, DO NOT allow cable to cross top of cross conveyor.
- Strap the cables to bottom of Pinsetter wire channel. Remove the old solenoid plug from the receptacle in the channel and plug in the new solenoid.
- Remove the two screws and cycle solenoid assembly from the detector. (Figure 5) Free the cable from cable clamps. Discard solenoid, hardware and long link to the starter bell crank.
